The HTML Web DataWindow features for PowerBuilder 10 have been enhanced to reflect advances in Web technology, especially the use of XML. This article discusses the new XML-rendering features of the Web DataWindow and enumerates the benefits of these new features. Recent History of the HTML Web DataWindow The HTML Web DataWindow was introduced in the "Picasso" release of PowerBuilder 7.0 and EAServer 3.0 in 1999. In that release the basic functionality for the HTML DataWindow was accomplished through the HTMLGenerator component in EAServer and the addition of the Generate() method in the DataStore class in PowerBuilder. Two HTML forms were actually generated - one for presentation purposes and a second hidden form that corresponded to the original values of the DataWindow result set.
